Let’s continue to elaborate on angels and how they influence signs and wonders. In the last few articles, we looked at several angelic visitations that ignited or released signs and wonders. I believe that these kinds of angels are being released into many areas of the earth at this hour. It is common to experience these types of angelic encounters in the great harvest fields like Africa, Europe, and America. Angels like this, angels that can impact the meteorological environment of a region, are what I call “signs and wonders” angels.
Supernatural Chinooks
When these angels appear the atmosphere of the earthly realm is shaken, and supernatural signs appear in the heavens. This sometimes takes the form of an immediate change in the current weather pattern (Chinooks). Unusual meteorological phenomenon can happen instantly or can crop up within minutes in association with these angelic visitations. We will begin to witness these ‘signs and wonder’ angels appear in every corner of the earth as people begin to understand how to co-labor with God’s angels. At times, God will release or employ signs and wonders angels to break open the heavens over a region or entire nation.
Things like rain ceasing, torrential rain falling, lone beams of sunshine in overcast skies, rainbows appearing in clear skies, thunder and lightning out of nowhere, glory holes, portals, whirlwinds, violent winds, snowfalls, healing winds, tremors or earthquakes, or what the scriptures refer to as “wonders in the heavens” sometimes accompany these angels. Often these angels will affect the weather patterns over entire regions. However, sometimes the effects are limited to a small area. These “signs and wonders” angels affect the spiritual atmosphere over regions too. These “signs and wonders” angels carry an ability to “break open the heavens” activating the release of biblical miracles, healing, signs and wonders and wholesale salvation. This can occur over an individual, a city, region, nation, or even and an entire continent. It was angels like these that helped initiate the Argentina revival by co-laboring with men like Dr. Edward R. Miller, and then later others like Omar Cabrera, Carlos Annacondia, Hector Gimenez and Claudio Freidzon.
On occasion I have actually seen angels manifest when these “signs and wonders in the heavens” have transpired. After much prayer and study of the scriptures I believe that there is evidence of this in the Bible. Joel 2:30 clearly tells us that God will reveal Himself in the last days in this manner (wonders in the heavens). Look at this passage in Joel 2: 28-32: “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. And (I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth): blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.” This passage clearly promotes God’s intentions to release signs and wonders in our time. Many times the Lord employs angels to manifest these ‘signs in the heavens’ above.
A Season Of Signs And Wonders
In the fall of 2007 Kathy and I preached in seven miracle crusades in seven cities in northwest Tanzania. These meetings took place between October 17th and December 9th 2007. This is considered the “rainy season” in Tanzania. During the rainy season it rains every day, and has for eons in East Africa. You can set your watch by the afternoon and evening rains during the rainy season. However, in the thirty-three crusade meetings we conducted in those seven cities it only rained on the crusade meetings two times (in one city), and those two bursts of rain came after the gospel had been preached. In addition to this, the Lord gave us wonderful signs and wonders in the heavens in all seven cities. We saw double rainbows develop over the altar eight days during the thirty-three crusade meetings. That is nearly 25% of the time. That is not a coincidence. Neither is it a coincidence that 95% of the crusade meetings held in the rainy season were clear and dry. (See photos page_____.) God confirms the preaching of His Word with signs and wonders in the heavens above. The Lord often employs angels to help accomplish this task.
Preaching the Gospel of His Kingdom
Often when you travel into a nation, and begin to declare the “gospel of the kingdom” in a city that is under the sway of the god of this world, there is a great battle in the heavens above that region (see 1 John 5:19). Remember that Jesus Himself prophesied in Matthew 24:14 that: “The gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the entire world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” When we are actively seeking to further God’s Kingdom by the preaching of the gospel of His Kingdom, the enemy is actively seeking to hinder Christ’s gospel. Hence we are given the term “spiritual warfare.” Signs and wonders angels are activated in these kinds of circumstances. As the result of angelic activities in the heavenly realms, signs in the heavens above often materialize in these situations. Many times signs and wonders result because of spiritual warfare in heavens over a geographic area where the gospel is being released.
As we pour out our lives as a drink offering preaching the gospel of His Kingdom, the Lord will release and empower angelic ministry to assist us. We see an example of this kind of sign and wonder angel, or “harvest angel,” in Revelation 18:1: “After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority and the earth was illuminated with his glory.” There is also this very clear description of the effects of the visitation of a signs and wonders angel at the resurrection of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:2-5: “And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.” Therefore, there is certainly scriptural evidence to support this kind of angelic activity and ministry today. Sometimes, when these ‘signs and wonders’ angels show up, the earth still quakes!
By now you may have looked at the photos of the “glory holes,” “portals,” “open heavens,” or signs and wonders that we have included in the book illustrating signs in the heavens above from Tanzania and Uganda. On both of those occasions, I discerned a large angel descending from the realms of heaven onto the crusade grounds. I am certain that the angel’s manifestation disturbed the meteorological environment and atmosphere over the area. The sign in the heavens above was an indication of the angel’s presence. The glory of God was also manifest and certainly played a role in the multiplication of the number of souls that were saved in these instances.
The Lord is accelerating this kind of angelic ministry at this hour. Many evangelists who preach the true gospel – the gospel of His kingdom – will actually have encounters with these mighty “harvester angels.” I want to share three additional testimonies about such angelic ministry. Recently I was speaking to an acquaintance, and he related an incredible testimony about this kind of angel. My friend was given a powerful release of angelic ministry when he was preaching in a Muslim nation. (I have omitted his name and the details because publication of these could lead to the persecution, and possible even death, of many people.) My acquaintance had been invited to the nation by a wealthy Christian businessman who had become aware of the anointing that rests upon my friend for miracles and healings. He has a very unique ministry. When this “signs and wonders” angel manifested, it immediately impacted the environment and the gospel meeting. Incidentally, hundreds of people experienced the effects of this angel’s entrance to the healing meeting.
“Signs And Wonders” Angel Manifests
Here is a testimony of an angelic visitation with a signs and wonders angel in the Middle East. We have kept this testimony anonymous to protect those involved. The man who organized the meetings was a very rich man and we held the meetings in his home. There were several dozen people in the meeting. On the second night of the meetings all of the sudden there was an ear-splitting crack of thunder. Some of the people thought that it might have been a bomb exploding and that we might be under an attack! It took a second to realize that it was a lightning bolt. The lightning struck right outside of the window where he was standing. The whole building seemed to be shaken by the lightning and accompanying thunder. Instantly the window blow open, and a supernatural wind rushed into the room.
The wind blew around the room for several minutes, although it was very still outside. There were not any storms, or anything like that, and it was clear and not really windy at all in the area. This wind just kept blowing around the meeting, and it seemed to be touching all of the people. Everyone was aware that something supernatural was going on. People began to cry and many were being touched by the Lord. Something very special was happening. So they just waited to see what would happen next, and watched as this rushing wind rushed around throughout this big parlor.
Later the people were asked what they had experienced and there were several who received healing in the time that the wind was moving through the room. (Remember that this was a big place and there were dozens of people that experienced and witnessed this angelic visitation.) People began to give testimonies as my friend encouraged them to share what had happened to them. Several remarkable healings and miracles took place. There was no need to preach too much about the gospel of Jesus, because they experienced His love. There was an altar call and dozens of Muslims prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior in that meeting. The meetings grew quite a bit after that impacted the whole area. There was no question that Jesus was real or that He was God. The people just believed when the angel showed up!
Heaven Thunders upon the Earth
Revelation 8:5 details these characteristics of angels like the one in the last testimony: “Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.” The birth of Christ was also accompanied with angelic visitations and signs in the heavens above (see Matthew 2). These supernatural encounters should not be so unbelievable to us. Jesus is an awesome God, and He is able to release dramatic demonstrations of His Kingdom and Lordship as He wills.
